Uganda Communications commission (UCC) rolled out new laws that meant to govern the art industry.

The new laws included registering of all artists, verifying of the content by the body before it’s outed among others.

These laws did not go well with the artists who felt it was unfair to their creativity and freedom of expression.

After a closed door meeting with a number of stakeholders in the art industry, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Judith Nabakooba  indefinetly suspended  the implementation of the new laws.

This comes a day after entertainers met the speaker of Parliament Hon. Kadaga Alitwala to seek the scrapping off of the new rules.
