We woke up to the rumours surrounding the sad state of artiste Mowzey Radio but the management had not released any official communication to the press and public.
In a press release dated 23rd January 2018, the management of Radio & Weasel states that between 9 PM and 9:30 PM on Monday night, Moses( Radio) was subjected to a very serious and unprovoked assault by an employee or associate of Egesa George ( Suspect ).
It also explains that there was an exchange of words between the two. When Radio was exiting the bar to return to Kampala, a yet to be identified assailant viciously attacked him and this resulted in severe brain injury that required immediate medical attention.
The management went ahead to explain that Radio was taken to Emmanuel Clinic, Entebbe road then transferred by ambulance to Nsambya hospital and finally to case hospital, Buganda road where it was decided that he would undergo emergency brain surgery. His surgery took place between 2:30 am and 5:30 am of 23rd January 2018.
It was further noted that the management of Case Hospital will not be releasing any details of his care to the press soon.
"The extent of his injuries is not clear contrary to the gossip, he is alive and in a stable condition within the intensive care unit. As his condition improves, the management of Radio & Weasel may make a further announcement." the management said.
The Management of Radio and Weasel clarified that their legal team will be pursuing charges of attempted murder against Egesa George, owner of the Bar who is currently in custody and his accomplice who is still on the run.
The Management also confirmed that that Radio's family is attending to him at the hospital but they request privacy from well-wishers and fans during this difficult time.
