Everyone wants to be their own boss but this is not for everyone. Artists ought to understand that music managers are the backbone of their success. Managers plan, invest and implement strategies that are best for their musician to excel.

Here is a list of artists who have failed to remain relevant after parting ways with management.

Coco Finger

Self-proclaimed Luo ambassador broke to fame in 2009 with popular hits like ‘Mikono Wagulu’,’Ma Miss’ among others. He was a big deal then when he was signed to Twinkle star Agency managed by Emma Carlos.

He was able to hold a concert at Kati Kati and maintained steady progress until 2012 when he developed misunderstandings with Emma Carlos and he left the record label.

Upon exit, he released a single titled ‘Private number’ hitting at his former manager.

Yung Mullo

He was the biggest dancehall artiste in 2012 with popular jams like ‘Tebakusobola’, 'girls dem love me ‘among others. I remember Young Mullo curtain rising on Konshens show in 2012 where he left the crowd yearning for more after performing his popular jams.

He was managed by Sam Mukasa who was at the time handling Jose Chameleone as well but since his exit Young Mullo went mute.

Radio and Weasel

Fans of the dynamic duo hate hearing this but they should take it in good faith that Radio and Weasel of 3 years ago is no more.

The group used to scoop international nominations, release hit after hit but they no longer have hit songs. They are always performing in local bars for survival.

Maro

Real names Magada Ronald and self-proclaimed RnB Kyabazinga started having problems when he fell out with his Humble management in 2015.

This was after staging the ‘Kamboine’ concert in Jinja. He accused the label of not reaping big from his concert and things have never been the same.

In 2017, he has not produced good songs. His last big song was ‘Mubi Bubbi’ while still with the group.
