KAMPALA. May 29, 2014: After a successful and exciting launch in Kampala on May 17, 2014 at the Garden City Rooftop, the search for the 2014 Mirinda Miss Teen starts its school tour this weekend.

Five schools will be toured individually during the search for the fairest teenager this year. In addition, four clusters have been created, each having at least 15 schools in all the regions of the country.

On Saturday, May 31, the Mirinda team will be at Nabisunga Girls School and the following day at Seeta High Mukono starting 2pm until 5pm.

According to the calendar, the search will continue to St.Joseph’s Girls Nsambya, Gayaza High School and Nabbingo Girls School on June 14, 15 and 29 respectively.

Mirinda Miss Teen is an annual talent contest that aims at showcasing the great talents and characters of today’s teenage girls.
This year’s theme is Miss Teen Star, and the search will be for a young, confident girl who has also excelled in numerous aspects including academics, sports, arts and leadership.

“Mirinda has been sponsoring Miss Teen for the past two years and this year’s objective is to make the property more exciting, fun and engaging,” said Ms Berna Kizza, the Mirinda brand manager.

The judges for the school tours are Angella Nampeewo and Edwin Danze. Ms Kizza said Mirinda Miss Teen embodies the true character of the Mirinda brand.

“It’s a fun, playful, provocative and smart brand that is loved by many teens. Therefore the Mirinda Miss Teen contest is the appropriate platform to spot the girl with the likeness of Mirinda which comes in a variety of flavours including; Fruity, Orange, Pineapple and the recently launched Green Apple.”

Through this contest, Mirinda is searching for school-going teenage girls between 15 and 18 years of age. They should be girls everyone in school is looking up-to in terms of academic and co-curricular excellence.

The winner will be a teen who stands for something and is currently doing inspiring work in her school community.

“Mirinda Miss Teen judges will be on the lookout for more than just beauty.”

The reigning Mirinda Miss Teen is Patience Ahabwe who beat more than 100 girls and took home the prestigious teen crown as well as Shs2 million, shopping vouchers, and many other prizes.

Fourteen-year-old Monica Namulindwa from Seeta High School was the first runner-up and Linda Guhirwa of Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga was the second runner up.

To enter the competition, all that teens have to do is to seek consent from their parents or guardians, and then fill out registration forms at the schools Mirinda Miss Teen 2013 search team will be.

Mirinda has promised to make the school tours of Mirinda Miss Teen 2014, the utmost definition of fun and pleasure this term.

“We have many activities for them to participate in and win instant prizes coupled with performances from leading artistes,” said Kizza.

Besides the ultimate prize, girls will also compete to be Miss Fashionista, Miss Teen Star School, Miss Fashionista, Miss Brainy and Miss Entrepreneur.
