Iggy Azalea is no stranger to conflict, having been criticised by many of her fellow rappers and more recently lashing out herself against fashion brand Steve Madden. And on Friday her mentor T.I. spoke out on her beefs, advising his protege to do her best to stay focused on the music and not the drama.

'It's like asking [footballer] Tom Brady if he should be commenting on deflate gate [a scandal around letting air out of footballs]  - he should worry about the big game on Sunday correct? Same with Iggy,' the rapper told TMZ in reference to the upcoming NFL Super Bowl.

'I think she should focus on what got her here, her music, her performing and continue to just present her talents to the world,' 34-year-old T.I. explained.

On Thursday the 24-year-old songstress took to Twitter to address her perceived authenticity after rapper Eve and singer Jill Scott appeared on SiriusXM and accused her of putting on a 'blaccent' -= a black accent.

Iggy tweeted:

'There's a difference between being yourself and being your stereotype. When people I've never met say I should act more like "myself."'

'I feel like they're really saying "act more like how I stereotype you to be, so I can feel comfortable."'

Eve and Jill are the latest in a line of urban artists to weigh in on the Fancy hitmaker after rival Azealia Banks accused her of being fake and not caring about black issues late last year.
