Obama's Reaction when he walked in on someone who had a friend in bed

President Barack Obama has a reputation for being level-headed -- something that he's apparently able to do even under the most, er, flustering of circumstances.

According to a copy of a memoir by former Obama aide Reggie Love that was obtained by The Washington Post, Obama walked in on Love while a college friend was spending the night in his hotel room during a 2007 campaign stop.

Here's Love's description of the incident, via the Post:

I remember the most peremptory of knocks, the sound of his voice talking even as he walked in. … He was charged up, going a mile a minute.

“Hey, Reggie, we need to go over the schedule” – at which point the senator finally noticed my friend in bed, covers pulled to her throat, mortified.

“Oh,” he said. “I apologize.” Then he turned around and hurried out.

“Was that?” she asked, face red.

“Senator Barack Obama,” I said sheepishly.

Love, a former basketball and football player at Duke, was somehow unfazed by the incident and even used the incident to try and cheer up Obama when he was worn out from campaigning. According to Love, Obama told him that it's not "consolation to me that my campaign for president can help subsidize your love life.”

Love shot back, telling the future president he'd gotten more action in college.

Love worked as a bodyman for Obama from 2006 to 2011. The two became extremely close, and Obama even once described him as a "little brother." Love is also credited with putting Jay-Z on Obama's iPod and teaching him how to fist-bump.

Love's book is scheduled to hit stores Feb. 3.
