Musician Lydia Jazmine has heavily been criticized for posting a picture showing off the money she earned after a performance in Juba, South Sudan.
In a picture shared on social media, Jazmine was lying money all splashed on the bed. Her fans described the act as ‘barbaric’ and inconsiderate since most people are starving due to the effects of Covid-19.
Karole Kasita, who had traveled with Jazmine didn’t show off her money.
Asked why she didn’t join the bandwagon, Kasita said she doesn’t find it right to parade money yet most Ugandans have nothing to eat.
“I don’t want to give people a perception that I have the money yet I don’t. However, I am not criticizing Jazmine for what she did. It’s part of the show business,” she said.
Some artists have been going outside the country to perform since the Uganda music industry is still under suspension due to Covid-19.
