Swangz Avenue artiste, Azawi shocked her fans a couple of months back when she posted a picture to unveil her new smile with her dental formula properly aligned. Previously, Azawi had a big gap which according to her, was a tool for bullies to ridicule her.
The singer says she was persecuted because of her dental and this made her lose self-esteem.
Working on herself boosted her confidence and somehow put the bullies at bay.
“When I was in school, students would call my diastema a 'mapengo' yet it wasn’t. So, I just did dental surgery for a perfect smile because, yeah, it is strong. I now feel very powerful,” she explains her journey to getting a perfect dental alignment.
Azawi adds she was bullied right from school and this almost made her a loner.
