Musician Jose Chameleone lost to Erias Lukwago in the recently concluded Kampala city mayoral race.
Many blamed Bobi Wine for ditching him for Nabbilah Naggayi. His mother Proscovia Musoke, also expressed his disappointment with the party leadership.
“I felt annoyed when my son was denied the party’s flag but I had nothing to do about it,” she said in an interview.
However, she credits Bobi Wine for helping his son dream big.
Chameleone had given up on his ambition of running for a political office until Bobi Wine became MP.
“Mayanja shared with me, way long ago, his plans of contesting as Kampala Lord Mayor when he was still dropping many musical hits. He, however, let it go just like that. But when he saw his brother Bobi Wine making it big in politics, he got inspired and made up his mind to contest for the position," she said.
