In March 2020, the government of Uganda banned events, concerts, and other mass gatherings to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Because of this, musicians have not hit the stage to perform for their fans. They are frustrated and broke.

The musicians under the umbrella, Uganda Musicians Association intend to peacefully demonstrate by marching to the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development on 8th August 2020.

The artists want a chance to perform again as they promise to observe the standard operating procedures(SOPs). They also want to demand their stimulus fund from the government.

This comes weeks after artists failed to turn up at National Theatre to discuss a way forward about the Covid relief fund the Government promised but they have never been received any coin.
