At the end of last week, artists had announced that they would hold a peaceful demonstration at National Theatre over Covid-19 artists’ rescue fund bonanza. They want the government to compensate them like artists from other countries where musicians were given some money after failing to perform for a long time due to covid-19.
But journalists were shocked when only two artists- Hanson Baliruno and Phina Mugerwa turned up at the agreed time, 10:00 am.
They left the venue past mid-day after waiting for their fellow artists in vain.
