Last week, musician Jose Chameleone appeared in the newspapers announcing that he had abandoned his stage name, Chameleone and would only use Joseph Mayanja.
Many say he was pushed by his political ambitions but the singer says it’s far from that.
Chameleone says he had been requested by Universities abroad where he enrolled for a number of courses to clarify about his real name.
He, therefore, had to clarify in the newspapers. The name change he says wasn’t targeting Ugandans.
He says Ugandans can continue calling him Chameleone.
