When Fans tell their musicians that drugs are not good for their music life, they think they are stupid. And when media writes about them...they complain that media is biased to their success.

Recently, Ugandan Reggae singer Maddox Sematimba has come out and horsewhipped at people who are worried about his love for weed aka ganja and alcohol, labeling them as stupid.

According to Investigator, the dreadlocks singer who has been struggling with alcohol and drug addiction lashed out,

“Before speaking about a speck in one’s eyes, first have a look at yours; so what if I am a drug and alcohol addict? Does any of you look after me or pay my daily bills, am tired of these foolish questions, I wonder why people do not mind their own business! I am old enough to look after myself, so whoever is interested in what I do with my life is stupid and should go to hell.”

When further pressed about his several run-ins with the law, he said that it was only human to err. However, he went on to lament about the Police’s over zealousness citing his arrest at Nakulabye as an example. The Reggae legend said he still did not understand why he was arrested yet his only ‘crime’ was sitting at a local drinking joint in the wee hours of the morning.

“‘I work at night and the only time I have to hang out is during the day. How then does one come and say that I am idle and disorderly. Those guys are foolish; they are the ones who are idle and disorderly. I am just a peaceful rasta man who loves hanging around with local and normal people in the ghetto,” he explained.

About releasing his next album, the singer said that he had recorded the ‘Namagembe’ album in 1998 but  Ugandans only started appreciating it two years letter in 2000 and that his next album titled ‘Abato’  was released seven years later .

‘’ I will never give my fans half baked music and I can assure you that I am in studio working on one that will be received with awe; just watch me do my thing,’’ the singer promised his fans.

On how he survives, the singer revealed that he is associated with people like Ras B Ssali of the Blood Brothers with whom he performs and is always booked at several rendezvous in and around town thus had the muscle to fend for himself.

Maddox revealed that having separated from his wife who lives in Sweden with his two children about three years ago; he had finally found love in a Ugandan lady identified as Elizabeth Nabanjja.
