Musician and aspiring Lord Mayor Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone may soon be arrested if he fails to provide authentic documents for his Toyota Land cruiser V8 to Uganda revenue authority( URA).
A video of Sam Muwereke, a URA officer demanding Chameleone to show him documents for his car went viral on social media two days ago.
Insiders at URA Nakawa Headquarters informed this website that URA enforcement manager Ivan Kakaire, has given Chameleone two days to provide proof of payment of tax and clearance documents.
The clearing agent is also being investigated as it is suspected the agent forged URA stamps and documents to clear Chameleone's car.
Chameleone's car was impounded on Easter Monday and it's parked at URA.
"The matter is being looked into and if Chameleone doesn't produce papers for the car in 2days, he will be arrested. The meeting that was attended by high ranking URA officials resolved," insider revealed.
Chameleone insists he has all the legitimate documents for his car.
The singer clashed with URA in 2014 before his Badilisha concert at Kyadondo Cricket Oval. URA impounded his Escalade for failing to pay around 43m he had accumulated in income and value added taxes.
