Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU) in conjunction with Emmanuel Ikubese Films and partners over the weekend premiered their long-awaited pan African series Kyaddala: It's Real in an exclusive black carpet event held at Kingdom Kampala. 

The exclusive world premiere attracted key players in the film industry from Uganda and beyond ranging from movie directors, producers, actors and actresses beyond the cast of Kyaddala. The series will officially start airing on October 5th on NBS Television and on the official Kyaddala YouTube page and Sauti Plus TV.

Speaking at the black carpet event, Emmanuel Ikubese, the Director and Executive Producer of Kyaddala, its real emphasised that the series is a world-class show that will change the face of television. “There’s no greater feeling like finally launching this series that we have poured ourselves into for the last 9 months. We have dedicated resources, space, and artistic energy to ensure that Kyaddala is a world class show that audiences will appreciate. I am proud to make my directorial debut on a show that will change the face of television” Ikubese said.

Based on real life, day to day events that a lot of young people can relate to, Kyaddala depicts young people’s sexual and reproductive health issues through a rich storyline with compelling themes like HIV and its impact on young people, Teenage pregnancy and the role of “gatekeepers/ stakeholders” in averting child marriages, Sexual and gender based violence among young people and how it affects their SRHR needs and Myths and misconceptions around young people’s SRHR and how to create an enabling and safe environment for young people to seek SRHR information and services. This series is fun, entertaining and educational all at the same time. 

“Kyaddala is a real conversation starter. Tackling topics that people are afraid to have. This show will provoke important conversations on young people’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Challenges.  Each of the 8 episodes provides a unique opportunity to talk  about issues that concern the protection of young people’s Sexual Reproductive Health Rights.” said Humphrey Nabimanya, the Founder and Team Leader Reach A Hand Uganda.

“The cast comprises of 28 actors and actresses. Some of the actors and actresses include Martha Kay, Salvador Idring, Harmonie Kyomugisha, Eleanor and Mathew Nabwiso, Anita Fabiola, Tevin Wainguru (Kenya), Stephen Katusiime, Emmanuel Ikubese and Olumide Oworu (from Nigeria).” Usama Mukwaya, Producer for the Series mentioned.

The 8 part series will be airing on the official Kyaddala YouTube page and SautiPlus TV. Plans for season 2 are already underway.
