Singer Joseph Mayanja alias Chameleone has made an official statement on why he joined Democratic Party.
He states that people who think he is going to change and turn his back on the party like he has supposedly done before are wrong.
He points out that his political decision is final and he isn't a hypocrite anymore.
He claims that as musician, the industry required him to do certain things which are highly regrettable.
"My work as an artist has taken me to countries and cities of the world. Through these experiences, i have appreciated how President Museveni and his NRM government has failed our country in many aspects of life, and i have no doubt in my mind that joining the struggle is the best decision i have ever made," Chameleone while explaining his decision to join politics.
He concluded by saying,"I know we can only achieve when Ugandans join hands. I look forward to joining my brother and fellow artists Robert Kyagulanyi, the People Power and all other forces to change, and build a new vision for Uganda."
