The second episode, themed “Midnight drum” is happening 31st May 2019 at the MTN warehouse, starting 7pm at 20k for ordinary, and 10k for campus students with IDs. Performers and competitors will strongly be encouraged to craft their work along the theme competitions

This episode, we’ll have competitions in Spoken word, Rap and Beat boxing. One victor from all three elements will take home the price of one million Uganda shillings, courtesy of Club. Contestants are to post a minute clip doing their thing on their social media pages and tag Evoke pages. Facebook; Evoke Uganda, Twitter & Instagram; evoke_ug. The public holds a 40% stake on the final nominees selected so contestants should ask their fans and friends to like/retweet their posts, which counts as a nomination. We’ll take on three nominees from each element, giving us nine contestants competing on 31st May and deadline is Sat. 19th May 2019

We are in partnership with renowned poetry organization called “Babishai Niwe poetry foundation” to aid in the selection, training and judging process for the poetry/spoken word.

What are we looking for? (Only English and/or Luganda languages accepted)

Spoken Word: Concept; are you taking us on a journey? Relevance; relatable and trending, Attitude; emotional connection to your piece.

Rap: Creativity; what’s the story being told, Content; word play and narrative, Flow; good rhythm and transitions, Body language; does your body mimic your outpour?

Beatboxing: Clarity; clear articulation of sounds, Variance; how far does your vocal ability go, Heart; emotional attachment to the sounds being made, Flow; good rhythm and transitions.
