He is probably Uganda's best vocalist and songwriter. Late Mowzey Radio transformed from a barber to become one of Africa's best vocalists and artiste.

Mowzey Radio was laid to rest on Saturday after succumbing to post-surgery complications at Case Clinic.

Moses Nakintije Ssekibigo was born in Jinja. He attended Alliance Nursery School, Malongwe Primary School in Kyaggwe for one year. He went to Kibuye Public Primary School, Lakeview SS for O' level and Kiira College Bitiki for A level.

Moses was admitted to Makerere University in 2004. He graduated from Makerere University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

At a tender age, Moses used to memorise Kadongo Kamu songs which he would later sing to visitors at his mother's request.

Radio was a devoted lover of Lord Fred Ssebatta songs.

Notably, Radio used to compose songs for the choirs in schools where he studied from.

Radio's musical journey started in 2000 when he performed on a big stage.
Chagga was the first person to notice Radio's music talent. Radio was picked up from his saloon in Ndeeba by Chagga and taken to Chameleone's Leone Island.
It was at this point that Radio got the chance to record his first songs like "Jennifer" and "Sweet lady" as he worked as Chameleone's back up vocalist and driver.

During a tour in Tanzania, Chagga and Chameleone got an autographed "African Queen" CD from 2Face Idibia to promote his song in Uganda. It was this CD that we can say shaped Radio's destiny.

Radio started performing "African Queen" at Blue Africa and National Theatre. This gave him a place in the hearts of many karaoke lovers. Because of his great vocals, Chameleone's brother, Weasel asked Radio to record a song with him. The song they recorded, "Nakudatta" later became a hit and a household banger in Uganda.

This was the birth of "Radio & Weasel". Radio & Weasel over the years nourished our souls with nice music and marked their place in Uganda's music industry.

They built a legacy with the likes of "Nakudatta", "Zuena", "Lwaki onumya", "Nyumbani","Nyambura", "Bread & Butter", "potential" and many more.

Radio at one point was quoted saying,  "I never at any point went to the studio with a song. Most of our songs you love most were lucky mistakes but listening to a song over and over again before releasing it is our trick, " the departed musical genius revealed.

Radio's contribution to the music industry has been recognised and will forever be recognised.   He is regarded as a legendary icon in the history of Ugandan music.
