El Tanjia club in Mbale was on fire on Friday 12th May when twelve DJ’s competed against each other to win the title of best DJ in Eastern Uganda. The first round lasted for three minutes and it comprised of DJ Deno, Stoat, Meddie, Sadamix, Genious and Dick 75.
They competed to win a prize of five hundred thousand. The second round which also lasted three minute saw the competitors scratching while others simply chose to cross fade from one song to another. It was clear that all six DJ’s were using dance hall music to hype up the crowd.
DJ Genious who was the crowd’s favourite, had a team of people in white shirts with the words “Team Genious” on their shirts.
At the end of the night, DJ Genious emerged as the night’s winner. The finale of the 10th edition of the Club DJ awards will take place on 21st May at Lido Beach Entebbe and the winner will walk away with two million shillings.
