Saturday night went down as one of the most exciting nights in the deejay and music world in Kampala.

The classic music showcase dubbed ‘King of the Turntables’ was held at The Square in Industrial Area, a venue that has become popular for hosting star events.

Fans anticipated killer performances from DJ Konk Mukiga, DJ Crisio, who is one of Kenya’s top deejays, DJ Hypnotiq and DJ Alludah.

True to their promise, they delivered a fantastic night. The event, which was organised by Talent Africa and sponsored by Uganda Waragi, saw hundreds of music fans turn up to party and support their favourite spinmasters.

The host, DJ Alludah is a renowned turntable king in Kampala and is an award winning spin master who has earned his title as one of Uganda’s most respected with a career spanning a couple of years. Some of his most notable career accolades include working for Channel O as a VJ and performing for top musicians including Busy Signal, Konshens and Chameleone.

During the deejay show popularly known as King of the Turntables, DJ Alludah brought the entire crowd onto their feet when he powered through an energetic performance.

The crowd displayed some mind-boggling dance moves and sang along to the music word by word while enjoying the mixes from the popular deejays.

Speaking of the event, Edgar Birungi, UBL’s Marketing Manager – Spirits said, “For over 50 years, our consumers have enjoyed Uganda Waragi, which is the Spirit of Uganda. Uganda Waragi is proud to sponsor events like these because we are a brand that is associated with fun and excitement. Ugandans are very vibrant people and we will continue to work tirelessly to make our consumers happy.”

Ali Alibhai, the proprietor of Talent Africa on organising the event had this to say, “It is exciting for us to have organised this second edition of King of the Turntables. We are delighted at how it has turned out because bringing people together to celebrate life is what we are all about.” Alibhai added that Talent Africa was looking forward to organising bigger and better editions of the musical showcase in future.
