MTV Europe Music Awards has finally stripped off Nigeria’s Wiz kid of the Best African Act award and given it to Alikiba after days of public outcry from Tanzanians.
On Sunday, Wiz kid was initially announced as the winner of the MTV EMAs ‘Best African Act’, only for the organisers to realize there was a mistake and Ali Kiba announced as the rightful winner subsequently.
The award that was subject to a public vote became a subject of discussion after votes showed Alikiba was leading but the organisers gave Wizkid the trophy during the ceremony in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
