Contemporary dancehall artiste Ragga Dee alias Daniel Kyeyune Kazibwe was yesterday, Mar. 4, honored with the 'Zzina Legend Award' for his contribution to the music industry in Uganda.

The legendary singer started his music career in the mid 1990's and produced hits like Bamusakata and Mukwano while part of a group called Da Hommies. Since then, Ragga Dee has been known as one of the most original artistes in the industry. With over 18 albums under his belt, it's an obvious decision that the management of the Zzina Awards honored him with the Legend Award before he is gone, something he appreciated a lot.

In his acceptance speech, Ragga Dee quoted that it's very important to honor people for their contributions while they still live. While reacting to some past life achievements awards that were given to artistes who died long time ago but were never appreciated when they were still alive, Ragga Dee expressed his disappointment and said it's not fair to wait for someone to die and then award them for their contributions.
