A 19-year-old boy in Oyam district is in hot soup for beating to death his biological mother after she returned home drunk.
Robert Olwi aka Tugeza, was on Wednesday arrested for kicking and punching his deceased mother identified as Sylvia Aol, a resident of Amwa Teduka Cell, Okule ward, Minakulu Town Council in Oyam District.
Locals allege that Aol returned home from a nearby bar in the wee hours of Wednesday morning reeking of alcohol and behaving like a mess.
Angered by her state, Tugeza attacked his mother accusing her of being a drunkard and a disgrace to their family before pouncing on her. The deceased died moments after she was kicked in the stomach and head severally.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson says Tugeza has been arrested and detained at Oyam Central Police Station as the file is being compiled for submission to the Resident Chief State Attorney for perusal and advice before arraigning him before the court on charges of murder.
