A primary five teacher at St. Pius boy's school who was reported missing on Friday last week has been found dead in his house in Lubanga zone in Northern division, in Kamuli municipality.

Jimmy Azalwa’s decomposing body was retrieved by the Police on Wednesday morning after neighbors realized a bad odor from his premises.

Azalwa's lifeless body was found lying half-naked beside his phone. Police conveyed the body to Kamuli general hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

According to Richard Mugabi the head teacher of St. Pius boy's school, Azalwa didn't show up at the school on August 05, 2022 and he did not notify his immediate supervisors.

"His calls went unanswered throughout 05th, August, prompting us to assign one of our staff to look for him only to find the house under lock and key," he said.
Mugabi adds that they alerted police authorities to track him down after noticing that, his phone had been switched off for close to 48 hours.

Hassan Musene, a resident of the area says that Azalwa has been a reserved person and his immediate neighbors were never suspicious about his whereabouts.
"Azalwa departs in the morning, returns late in the night, and at times travels to unknown destinations without alerting us. We only noticed that he was missing when his colleagues made impromptu stopovers at his house on August 6th and 7th," he said.

Michael Kasadha the Busoga North Region police spokesperson says that Azalwa is suspected to have suffocated to death because of the poor ventilation of his house. He says that inquiries into the matter are underway.
