25-year-old man in trouble for confessing to a murder

Police in Fort portal have arrested a 25-year-old man identified as Adolf Musabe Karatunga in connection with the murder of Erina Kabasomi, a resident of Kigarama cell Kasisi ward Kiko town council.

Police in Fort portal have arrested a 25-year-old man identified as Adolf Musabe Karatunga in connection with the murder of Erina Kabasomi, a resident of Kigarama cell Kasisi ward Kiko town council.

Detectives picked up Karatunga after confessing to his boss, retired Col. Patrick Mwesige on the phone that he had killed someone.  Retired Col. Patrick Mwesige immediately informed officers at Kiko police post leading to the arrest of the suspect. 

The suspect led police to the place where he had dumped Kabasomi's body. 

According to Vincent Twesige the Rwenzori West police spokesperson, while having dinner with her family around 9:30 pm on August 5th, 2022, Kabasomi received a phone call from an unidentified person. 
She moved out to receive the call and never returned which prompted her family members to move out to trace her whereabouts in vain until when they received news about her murder.  

The deceased's husband, Lawrence Baguma, a catechist at Kaswa catholic church told the police that his wife was a good person and doesn’t know what could have led to her murder by anew person in the village. 
He has called for thorough police investigations into the circumstances leading to his wife's murder. 

Police conveyed the deceased's body to Fort Portal Regional referral hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
