Iganga police are hunting for a group of people that allegedly assaulted and tortured a 14-year-old boy who later died in Iganga hospital.
The incident occurred on 19th April 2022 at 0100hrs in Buwongo village, Nakalama sub-county Iganga district.
According to preliminary information, the deceased identified as Kasero Samuel sneaked into the house of Wandira Nelson and allegedly attempted to rape his 15-year-old daughter.
The girl made an alarm which attracted residents who grabbed the boy, assaulted him and later reported a case to Iganga police. They were advised to first rush the boy to the hospital since his condition was critical.
Unfortunately, he passed on at 0900hrs on 20th April 2022.
James Mubi the PRO Kiira region says police officers are currently hunting for the suspects who have been identified as Wandira Nelson, Isimba James, Oketch and others all still at large.
