Police in Luwero is hunting for a group of machete-wielding thugs who hacked a security guard to death and injured another in a robbery at a pump fuel station.

Police in Luwero is hunting for a group of machete-wielding thugs who hacked a security guard to death and injured another in a robbery at a pump fuel station. 

Francis Ngoya was murdered while his colleague Ronald Turyasingura was injured. They were both employees of Safe Tec Security Company, and they were guarding Atusa Filling Station in Kalule trading centre in Luwero district. 

According to Kenneth Byamukama the Manager of Atusa Filling Station, about eight thugs armed with machetes and iron bars stormed the station around 02:00 am and hacked Ngoya to death and injured Turyasingura before making away with Shillings 1.5million and a gun belonging to Ngoya.
The Savannah Regional Police Spokesperson Isa Ssemwogerere, says that officers from Kalule Police Post rushed to the scene and transferred the injured to Bombo Military Hospital for treatment.

The thugs also dumped the deceased's gun, two kilometres away from the scene and police have recovered it. Ssemwogerere says that the hunt for the thugs to face charges of aggravated robbery is ongoing.

Police had sealed off the pump fuel station by press time of compiling this story to gather evidence.
