Suspected goat thieves killed by mob in Kabarole

It is reported that on 31st March 2022 four suspected thieves driving a motor vehicle UAK 067T Premio white in colour were seen loading three goats at Hima village Bugasi sub-county Kyenjojo district.

The police in Kabarole district are investigating the murder of four suspected thieves by the mob.

It is reported that on 31st March 2022 four suspected thieves driving a motor vehicle UAK 067T Premio white in colour were seen loading three goats at Hima village Bugasi sub-county Kyenjojo district.

However, the residents of the area became suspicious about the activities of the suspected thieves, prompting them to draw near the vehicle to establish the motive of the occupants. 
According to Vincent Twesige the PRO Rwenzori West the driver was spooked and sped off prompting Boda Boda cyclists and other residents in the area and nearby villages to chase the speeding vehicle. The suspected thieves drove to Kyansimbi village Hakibaale sub-county Kabarole district where they finally ran out of fuel. 

Three of the men were arrested by the angry mob while one managed to getaway. The trio was pounced on by the angry mob until death and their motor vehicle was set ablaze. 

Twesige says Police officers from Kyenjojo led by the DPC first responded to the incident. The scene was also visited and processed by SOCO and other detectives.

The burnt motor vehicle was towed to CPS Kabarole, while the three bodies were taken to Buhinga Hospital for post mortem
