The Police at Nansana have arrested a nurse at Brocch Medical services, a clinic in Gganda Wakiso district for being in possession of Government medicines.

Police carried out an operation on Thursday at around 5pm, following information from locals, that trucks had parked at the clinic and drugs were being off loaded and put in other vehicles. 

Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy police spokesperson says a team of police officers led by the OC CID Nansana responded and were able to recover drugs on a parked Tipper vehicle. 

The drugs recovered were marked Joint Medical Stores Nsambya, USAID and other with logs "Uganda government not for sale".

According to Owoyesigyire, Patience Kilenzi a nurse in the clinic, was arrested and she is detained at Nansana Police Station. 

“We have also impounded motor vehicle UAP 088P as investigations continue. The police have left the clinic under guard as we wait for officials from National Drug Authority to help into the investigations of the origin of the drugs recovered at a private facility” Owoyesigyire added.
