The Police in Wakiso district have in custody one Lule Musoke for allegedly strangling his 17-year-old girlfriend and pregnant mother Margret Abaasa to death, with the aim of avoiding responsibility.

Fred Enanga the Police Spokesperson says that Musoke, a fisherman at Kagulube fish landing site, in Ziba, Kasanje in Wakiso district, rented a room for Abaasa Margret and later impregnated her.
He however went ahead to do the despicable act of murdering her, when the girl’s parents forced him to take responsibility of Margret’s pregnancy.

The girl’s parents had made arrangements with Musoke, forcing him to take up responsibility and care of their now deceased daughter, but he did not agree with the arrangements and tried to argue that he was not the baby’s father.

It is alleged that on 9th of November 2020, Musoke went to the rented house where Abasa was sleeping and strangled her thinking it was the best way of destroying the evidence that may show that the baby belongs to him.

Enanga said the deceased's parents should have immediately reported the matter to police when their daughter got pregnant since she was a minor, and that young girls and women should be respected in order to avoid fatalities.

Musoke was arrested by police and will be charged with first degree murder and sexual assault.
