Police in Masindi have arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly defiling five boys.
The suspect has been identified as Scovia Nyamusana, a resident of Kamurasi cell, Nyangahya division in Masindi district.
The victims are aged between 8 and 11 years and are all residents of the same area.
According to ASP Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region spokesperson, the suspect locked the five boys in her room on Wednesday afternoon, defiled them and promised to give them money.
However, the victims were rescued by neighbors who alerted area local leaders that Nyamusana had locked herself together with the five boys in her room.
Led by the Defense secretary Haruna Mukasa, the local council authorities rushed to the house where the children had been locked up by the woman.
Nyamusana was found red-handed performing the dubious act with the young children. She was arrested and taken to Masindi Central police station where she is currently being detained.
The five boys have since been taken for medical examination to ascertain whether they have been infected with any sexually transmitted diseases.
The suspect will be charged with aggravated defilement as soon as police investigations are complete.
