The Police in Jinja district are investigating circumstances under which a 25-year-old Amiina Mutesi was stabbed to death by identified people.
According to reports, Mutesi was stabbed in the neck while visiting her friend Amiina Babirye in Danida village in Walukuba-Masese division around 9:30 p.m.
Area residents rushed her to Danida Health Centre II where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
They later teamed up with police and condoned off the village to find the killer, but nothing.
According to Babirye, her friend was unknown in the neighborhood but suspects that she could have been killed by a neighbor’s wife who has been accusing her of flirting with the husband.
Kiira Region Police Spokesperson Abby Ngako says police has launched a manhunt for the suspect’s whereabouts, while the deceased’s body has been handed over to Jinja Regional Referral hospital mortuary pending a postmortem.
