Police have retrieved from Lake Rutoto in Rubirizi District, the body of an Indian national who went missing in Bushenyi district on Tuesday.
Patel Abhisnek’s was found dead and his body floating on Wednesday evening.
According to Kennedy Ocaya, the Officer in Charge of Rubirizi Police station, the deceased’s body was seen by residents who had gone to fetch water from the lake, a day after his colleagues filed a case of a missing person at Isahaka police station in Bushenyi district.
The colleagues told police that Patel disappeared with his car a Toyota Wish registration number UBB 018K on Tuesday. The said vehicle is still missing.
Rutoto Cell Chairperson Abdu Mbamanya says he received information from some residents indicating that they had seen a man’s body floating on the water and called police.
Greater Bushenyi Region police spokesperson Martial Tumusiime revealed that Patel’s body was brought to Kampala International Hospital for postmortem as police hunts for the missing car.
