Police in Kampala have arrested Mugisha Johnbosco Alias Mukiga one of the men behind the murder of Derrick Mulindwa a boda boda rider whose gruesome murder was recorded on CCTV and went viral on the internet.

Mulindwa, a resident of Nabweru, Nansana Municipality was murder on 30th June 2019 by two men who had hired him.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Onyango Patrick, the suspect was arrested at Nsiike 1, Ndeeba, Rubaga division Kampala last night. 
Onyango in a statement released this afternoon indicates that Mugisha confessed to killing Mulindwa together with his colleague Young Mulo who would later be killed by a mob for stealing a motorcycle.

According to Mugisha’s confession, the two thugs stole a motorcycle from Mityana on 2nd July 2019 but were traced up to Makindye where his colleague Mulo was caught by the mob and beaten to death.

However, Mugisha escaped from the mob and went to Kabale where he has been hiding until his 40 days ended. He was arrested after a tip off.

“Mugisha is currently held at Katwe police pending transfer to Old Kampala police station. He will be charged with murder and aggravated robbery” Onyango writes.
He further appreciated officers who carried out the arrest, adding that the suspect has been arrested several times and been to Luzira on robbery cases.
