The General Court martial will on Tuesday May, 14th sit for sentencing of former boda boda 2010 chairman Abdullah Kitatta and his bodyguard, Sowali Ngobi who were Monday convicted for illegal possession of firearms

The offense attracts a death penalty.

Sitting in Makindyeb today under the chairmanship of Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti, the military court pronounced the duo guilty in a fully packed court.

In his ruling, Gen. Gutti said that prosecution had adduced evidence from four witnesses, Private Richard Kasaija, Corporal Richard Wanyama, a detective attached to the Directorate of Counter Terrorism and the then, Captain David Agaba, a detective from the Chieftaincy Military Intelligence which implicated the duo.

The witnesses told court the accused were found with an SMG rifle, two pistols and 30 rounds of ammunition without a valid license contrary to the Fire Arms Act.

These guns were recovered from a vehicle UAK 135B that two were using outside Vine Hotel in Wakaliga at the time of their arrest. Now, the body guard Ngobi was found guilty of illegal possession of the SMG rifle with 30 rounds of ammunition.

Also, court chaired by Gen. Gutti has exonerated Ngobi of illegal possession of a black Pistol that was found in the same vehicle, saying the former Commandant of the Police Special Investigations Unit Nickson Agasirwe confirmed that he was the one who armed him on the instructions of the former Police Chief, General. Kale Kayihura.
Kitatta was found guilty of illegal possession of a golden pistol and ammunition.
