A businesswoman survived death by whisker at Mailo bili roundabout in Jinja town, Mafubila Sub County in Jinja district on March 29th at around 10PM, when she was attacked by unknown thugs armed with guns. 

This was revealed by deputy police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, during a post Easter press briefing at the Kampala Central police station this morning. 

Details indicate that a one Kukwo Betty 28 years a businessoman in the aforementioned area was attacked by 3 men armed with AK 47 guns on her way back home. The robbers are said to have jumped into Kukwo’s vehicle and robbed her of Shillings 1.6m and 3 iPhones, valued at Shillings 1.8m. The robbers would later abandon her along Iganga-Jinja Highway.

Police is yet to make any arrests in this case.

Another cash robbery was registered in Ntutsi Subcouty, Ssembabule district, where unidentified thugs armed with pangas and hammers attacked the home of Sophia Nantongo and Byamugisha, robbing them of Shillings 450,000, and two phones. The same robbers proceeded to Ntutsi trading center where they robbed Kazungu Nathan and his wife of unspecified amount of money and 2 phones.

Police has since arrested two suspects in connection with the robberies.

Police further registered aggravated robbery at Migongwe along Mubende fort portal Highway in Kyegegwa district where one Kabuya Dennis and 2 others travelling in an unidentified vehicle carrying mattresses from Kampala to fort portal were on March 31st stopped and robbed of cash worth Shillings 387,000 and 2 phones, by two thugs armed with AK 47 guns. 

According to Onyango, Police is yet to make any arrests in this case too.
