Victor Twinamatsiko is in Kabale Police custody for faking his own kidnap. The suspect is a 26-year- old resident of Katooma cell in Mwendo parish in Kitumba Sub County in Kabale district.

Twinamatsiko is said to have disappeared from home on October 30th, 2017. He later called his parents, saying he had been kidnapped by unknown people and taken to Kampala. He reportedly told his parents his kidnappers wanted a ransom of Shillings 4 million before they could release him.

Charles Mugisha, the father of the suspect, says that he immediately rushed to police for help, saying he couldn't raise the four million Shillings ransom.

Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says they found Twinamatsiko hiding in the home of Pretazio Twinomujuni in Rweeza cell in Muko Sub County in Rubanda district on Monday morning.

Maate says they tracked the suspect's phone number and discovered that it was being used in Muko Sub County. He says they arrested Pretazio Twinomujuni, an irish potato dealer to help police investigations.

The suspect admits having faked his kidnap reportedly to raise Shillings four million to compensate the family of the late Judith Tukamuhabwa.

Twinamatsiko knocked Tukamuhabwa dead on January 12, 2012 while riding a motorcycle in Muko along Kabale- Kisoro road.
