The interdicted Masaka District Land Board Chairperson Peter Ssenkungu, is in trouble for alleged fraud. Lady Justice Catherine Bamugemereire, the Chairperson of the Commission inquiring into land matters ordered Ssekungu's arrest on Thursday after he failed to explain why he parceled out 600 acres of land at Shillings 800,000.

Ssenkungu’s woes started when he appeared to testify before the Justice Bamugemereire Commission at Brovad Hotel in Masaka Town. The Commission tasked Ssenkungu to explain the circumstances under, which he allocated 600 acres of land to Major Gen. Wilson Mbadi, the Deputy Chief of Defense Forces in Bukakata at just Shillings 800,000.

Mbadi sold the same land to Pastor Samuel Kakanda, the head of Kakande Ministries at Shillings 80million to plant rice. Justice Bamugemereire questioned Ssenkungu's mental status and his education level. She wondered why Ssenkungu allocated such a huge chunk of land to the army officer at a paltry Shillings 800,000.

Ssenkungu said he couldn't answer the question, saying he didn't know English. He asked for permission to respond to the questions in Luganda, a request the Commission granted. However, Ssenkungu couldn't respond to most of the question, saying he was too weak, adding that his sugar levels had dropped.
At this point, the Commission ordered Police to arrest and prosecute Ssenkungu for fraud. Justice Bamugemereire described Ssenkungu as a disgrace, saying he caused the country a huge financial loss
