Security organs on Uganda led by the police Cyber Crime Unit and the Special Investigations Division (SID) are investigating an online group, the Uganda Patriotic Freedom Fighters, PFF, which claims to have carried out the assassination of AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

The group posted on its facebook page that they had successfully assassinated the former police spokesperson, and the claims by police to have arrested suspects is a lie.

This morning, police spokesperson AIGP Asan Kasingye told the media at Naguru police headquarters that the group had claimed responsibility and in turn would be investigated.

"If they have claimed responsibility, we cannot say they did not do it and that is why we are investigating them," he said.

Part of the statement by the PFF reads; “We did not use cheap Boda Boda motor cycles, our motor bikes are very few in Uganda and can only be compared to sport bikes. To claim that we used Boda Bodas is to suggest we’re not capable of executing such a high level mission.”

It adds; “Kaihura tewekubya mizimu that you’re the next target as you ordered New Vision to tell Ugandans. Yes you’re a target but not the next because you still have to watch what you have been doing to others.”

Kasingye says investigations are underway to find this group, so its members can explain their claims.
