Eddy Kenzo’s winning of the prestigious Black Entertainment Television (BET) award took the country by storm and this was brought all sorts of arguments in the public domain.

One Sanyu FM's morning show host, James Onen aka Fat Boy was one of the people who said Sitya loss kids should have won the award and not Kenzo:

"So I'm not trying to hate on Eddie Kenzo but the only reason his video was popular was because of the dancing kids. They are the reason the video got all those views. Am I wrong? And if so, shouldn't they have been the ones to win the award instead of him?"

Another popular song writer and producer, one Robert Ssegawa

“Actually Kenzo and the kids to me, should take 50/50 credit. It was the video named ‘Ghetto Kids’ which went viral ushering Kenzo to the international audience. But Kenzo, as the owner of the song rushed and recorded his video to capitalize on the viral video to push his.”

“It wasn’t the song awarded. His song can’t compete anywhere in the BET categories, a reason it was nominated in a subsidiary category. To me, the Good Lyfe duo were nominated in a bigger category, a reason why they even accessed the stage, unlike Kenzo, who didn’t even access where the awards were being held,”

“There are a lot of hardworking musicians I know but I have never seen anyone as lucky as Kenzo. A part from capitalizing on the kids’ video, even the award he won was just introduced this year.”

And a few other guys shared the fame sentiments, that Ghetto Kids should have got the award.

Yesterday, Kenzo came out to clear the most controversial statements that have been made about him with regards to winning the award. The most talked about part was Ghetto kids.

He had this to say when asked He was strongly left the ‘Ghetto Kids’ behind, and not crediting them after scooping the award, yet the everyone believes that they are the Ghetto kids  that made him famous with their dances in the ‘Sitya Loss’ video.

Kenzo's Response On Ghetto Kids Winning BET Award

That can’t be true. Everything was my initiative. I got those kids, got the clothes and cut them myself. They were taught the dance strokes by my boys Tips Swizzy. Had I found them with a recorded video, I would be wrong, but it is me who even directed the video and later I paid them for their work.

Nevertheless, the kids had appeared in my other three videos before sitya loss.

Where was everybody who claims to care more about them at the moment? We have seen many successful videos but do those video vixens later come out to claim ownership of the videos they feature in? Have you??? Ghetto kids have featured in more than five other videos, are you aware of any? Then, why do claim that the success of ‘Sitya Loss’ was entirely on them?”

I love these kids and I would love to go with them where ever I go but they have a manager who is my friend, Kavuma, however, some selfish people have polluted his decisions by badly advising him not to work with me.

He even stopped the kids from travelling with me and even went as far as banning them from appearing in any other video of mine.

So what do you e expect me to do? I got those kids from him, should I forcefully get them from him? No, I can’t do that.

So we ask: Did Eddy Kenzo Really Deserve BET Award Or Ghetto Kids That Made Him Famous With Sitya Loss??
