Singer Catherine Kusasira is among many local celebs who have battled and defeated Covid-19. Unlike those who have received treatment in hospitals, Kusasira’s story of recovery is different.
The singer says she was turned away by several hospitals either due to congestion at facilities and at one hospital where there was space, the singer was asked to pay 9M for treatment.
“I couldn’t afford 9M. I just returned home and started treating myself with local herbs. The herbs have worked. I’m now feeling better but I appeal to the government to reign in on hospitals that are using the current situation to exploit Ugandans.”
Many Ugandans have been criticizing the government for failing to control private health facilities that have been demanding a lot of money from patients before treating them.
