After the January general elections where both Bobi Wine and Stella Nyanzi lost elections to President-elect Museveni and lawyer Shamim Malende respectively, the former Makerere University research fellow went to Kenya for a self-imposed asylum.

We have learned that the LGBT community diverted the money meant for Stella Nyanzi to Bobi Wine’s NUP since he had higher chances of taking over office to serve their interests than Stella Nyanzi.
The same source also noted that Stella Nyanzi, an FDC member had joined Bobi Wine’s NUP activism but unfortunately, she was kept out of the party affairs because of similar reasons.
Stella Nyanzi, a renowned anti-government citizen was forced to eliminate her face from NUP affairs, and the party ticket was given to Shamim Malende.
