Musician turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has been making major moves for the last three years in the political arena.

Bobi Wine, who started as a young ambitious man in Ghettos of Kamwokya  has proved to many that it is determination, resilience and fear of God  that matters for one to be successful.

After graduation at Makerere University with a Bachelors degree in Music, Dance and Drama,  he joined the entertainment industry and he formed Firebase crew.

According to Bebe Cool,  Bobi Wine has always been ambitious and that is why he had a lot of money at the age of 30 years.

"My Brother Bobi Wine has always been ambitious, i don't know why he fights the President yet he made all his wealth in Museveni's era," Bebe Cool said during an interview on a local television.

Through music, Bobi Wine has managed to grow his fame both at national and  international level.

Bobi Wine has been a critic of the Ugandan government for the last 10 years and he has produced a lot of songs which criticise the government.

Bobi Wine has produced songs like 'Obululu' 'tebutwawula', 'Freedom', 'Afande', 'Mazzi mawanvu' among others.

In late 2015, Bobi Wine refused to participate in the production of "Tubonga Naawe" song for President Museveni's campaign.

Bobi Wine also claims he was given over 300 million to participate in the production of the song but he refused the offer.

A section of opposition started believing in him as someone who was willing to fight for their cause of removing the current government from power.

Bobi Wine's brother, Nyanzi once said that Bobi Wine has never been scared of standing alone if he believes in something.

"Bobi my brother has always been against the many, he doesn't fear to stand alone and that has helped to him to succeed in life," chairman Nyanzi said.

In 2017, Bobi Wine announced his bid to contest for the member of Parliament of Kyadondo East and this was welcomed by many opposition politicians and people of Kyadondo East.

Bobi Wine was lucky that the court had ordered for a by-election after a petition by an NRM card bearer that FDC's Apollo Katinti had rigged the elections.

Bobi Wine won by a land slide and since then he has been the alternative face of opposition.

Bobi Wine has influenced great musicians to engage in politics.

Musicians such as Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Mikie Wine, Catherine Kusasira and many others have emerged in politics after Bobi Wine's  massive reception.

After announcing that he will stand for the highest office in the country, many musicians are being paid to counter his growing influence among the youth.

Musicians are being hired to perform at various political rallies by both the opposition and the ruling government because they influence numbers.

Many have been invited to State House allegedly to receive a yellow envelope to canvas support for the President.

Dr. Samwel Kazibwe, a lecturer and radio host at CBS FM says Bobi Wine has done more good for  musicians than the government. He alerted the government that musicians are powerful in the country.

"If it wasn't  for Bobi Wine, Butchaman and Catherine Kusasira would have not been appointed as senior Presidential advisors. They should be great full to Bobi Wine," Kazibwe said.

Tamale Mirundi, a former presidential advisor says Bobi Wine has elevated the status of musicians.

"Bobi Wine has done  great thing for musicians but they have failed to appreciate him. The best people to make a manifesto for President Museveni in 2021 are the musicians," he said while on a local television.

Yusuf Sserukuma also praised Bobi Wine for his endless efforts to make Ghetto a better place to live.
