They were once celebrated in Uganda. They were worshipped here in Uganda because of their music. Sadly, they lost it on the way. They couldn’t sing anymore. They are now just surviving abroad after a failed music career. They are sperm donors, dog walkers, cab drivers and house husbands. Let’s look at these Musicians who fled the country for exile.

GNL

Rapper GNL Zamba made Ugandans love his Luganda raps. Youth worshipped him and Women fought to have a piece of him. He later failed to produce good songs.  He fell in love and relocated to American where he is a stay home husband.

MEGA DEE

Mega Dee was a music flop. He just couldn’t sing but forced his way into the music industry. He used all means to get noticed on the musical scene but that never worked. He fled the country and last week, it was revealed that he is now a cab driver in the US. He recently posted pictures on social media claiming that he had graduated.

JIMMY JONES

Jimmy Jones was a radio presenter on Capital Fm. He got a juicy a deal in US as an actor but the deal flopped. He couldn’t come back to Uganda so he got engaged to a pensioner who is now looking after him.

JOEL SEBUNJO

Joel was a guitarist who had dreams of living in the US. When an opportunity knocked on his door, he never gave it a second thought. He just left and he got married to a US-based black American who connected him there. He is now a house husband there.

The Ngoni guys

They left Uganda long time ago. When they realised their music couldn’t  work here, they chose to go and settle abroad. They have been living in the UK for all their lives and that’s where their music is relevant.
