Murder suspects Mathew Kanyamunyu, his girlfriend Cynthia Munwangari and Brother Joseph Kanyamunyu have been further remanded to Luzira until January 17th.

The suspects arrived at court this morning like movie stars unbothered with a number of journalists who had showed up taking their pictures from every angle of their bodies.

Clad in a grey suit, Mathew confidently emerged from the prison bus and shunned all questions from journalists, as the same went for his co-accused.

Frustrated journalists who were hungry for a comment described the trio as proud and show-offs. Under the law, a suspect is allowed to speak about matters outside their case, like their conditions in prison, but the Kanyamunyus have on all occasions shunned any questions from journalists.

In Court, prosecutor Rachael Nabwiire asked Grade on Magistrate Noah Sajjabi for an adjournment claiming investigations into the case are still under way.

In turn, the magistrate adjourned the case to January 17th when the accused will return to court.

Mathew Kanyamunyu and Cynthia Munwangari were arrested on suspicion that the former shot the late Akena after he reportedly knocked his car at Lugogo, near Kampala.

Akena had reportedly gone to apologise to Kanyamunyu for scratching his car for the accused to allegedly lower the windows of his car and shoot him.

Akena then confided in his cousin on his death bed that it was Kanyamunyu who shot him after he accidentally knocked his car.
