Embattled Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago says he has not received his salary since 2013, and is yet to compute the whole amount, and demand for it.

Appearing on a local TV channel this morning, Lukwago said he is entitled to a salary of 16 million shillings plus allowances of about 1.5 million per months.

Lukwago said; “I last got my salary from KCCA in November 2013 and we are talking about salary of 16 million, when you deduct tax of about 5.5million, calculate from there.”

He added; “And some small allowances like 1.5m because it is supposed to be 2.4m housing, medication, and others, when you deduct tax, it comes to 1.5m.”

Lukwago also promised to deal with critics, citing president Museveni, who he says is determined to frustrate his efforts to take back office.

“80% of Kampala dwellers voted for me. I will not succumb to the attempts to frustrate me out. Even President Museveni knows it that no dictator can suppress the people forever,” Said Lukwago.

He was formerly evicted from office in late 2013 by city councilors who accused him of incompetence, and even when he ran to courts of law, nothing helped. Lukwago recently bounced back as city Lord Mayor in the 2016 general election.

He has since promised to make his second chance count.
