The Top 5 Moments From Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 Show

1. Merch was in high-demand.

Fans rushed the entrance of Madison Square Garden (above) before the 4 p.m. start of the show. Inside, long lines snaked down the hallways: People were standing in line for merchandise branded with “The Life of Pablo,” the title of West’s new album, which he introduced during the show.

2. There was a grand Kardashian entrance.

Minutes before the show began, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian and other members of the Kardashian family proceeded to their seats to applause from the crowd. Almost all wore white fur get-ups — including the two-year-old North West.

3. The listening party got loud — then came a fashion reveal.

Guests in the arena were greeted by a massive tent-like structure. Soon, West appeared and began to play his album — including one track that had a contentious callout to Taylor Swift — on his laptop. A few songs in, the tent dropped to reveal hundreds of models dressed in pieces from the Yeezy collection. As Vanessa Friedman noted, “There’s no question this will be the most diverse runway of fashion week.” The performance was orchestrated by the artist Vanessa Beecroft.

4. There was a major model moment.

After a few songs, the supermodels Naomi Campbell, Veronica Webb and Liya Kebede strode out wearing what appeared to be floor-length furs. They walked among the other models, posing.

5. West shared a big dream.

Throughout the show, West addressed the crowd over a microphone. At one point, he made a confession. Referring to Anna Wintour, he said: “I told Anna this backstage, but to be the creative director of Hermès would be a big dream of mine. I just want to bring as much beauty to the world as possible.”
