KAMPALA October 31, 2014- National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has recognized Centenary Bank as the Best Employer in Uganda, for remitting its workers’ savings in time and in the right amounts.
Centenary Bank won the award during NSSF’s second Annual Members Meeting (AMM) held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. The meeting brings together managers, contributors, members and regulators of NSSF to discuss the operations and future of the Fund.
The Best Employer Awards recognize outstanding employers in terms of staff contribution compliance, basing on the Fund’s 360 degree compliance check which takes into account payment of contributions by companies for all their employees, in the right amounts of money and in time.
Centenary Bank won in the Gold contributor category where firms contribute over shs500 million every month. Other key winners at the AMM were Hima Cement and Vision Fund who won the Silver category and Bronze categories respectively.
The bank’s award was received by Fabian Kasi, the managing director. Commenting on the reward, Mr Kasi said, the bank is honored to be recognized for its compliance and timely contributions. “We are humbled and excited to be the Gold Contributor winners at this year’s NSSF Employer Awards. This award demonstrates the value we attach to our staff, the desire to see them live a worthy life even after they retire. We have close to 2,000 employees who are the engine of everything the Bank puts out including serving over 1.3M customers across 61 branches. The award is also significant of one of our values, integrity which we seek to uphold at all times.”
Mr. Nicholas Okwir, chairman of the Federation of Uganda Employers hands Fabian Kasi, Centenary Bank’s Managing Director an accolade for best employer in the gold category as recognized by NSSF during the Fund’s Annual Members Meeting that was held at Serena Hotel recently.
Earlier this year, Centenary Bank won the Bank Award at the KACITA Quality Awards, the TOP52 Brand Awards and the Best Ugandan Bank -Customer Satisfaction during the 2014 ThinkBusiness Banking Awards that were held in Nairobi. According to Mr Kasi, the awards demonstrate that the public has confidence in the bank’s products & services, staff and service delivery. “At the core of Centenary Bank’s business is the customer, we therefore offer innovative and affordable products that respond to their needs.”
