Vodafone Uganda has opened a dealer retail outlet down town as part of its efforts to grow its footprint in the city and greater Kampala.

Speaking at the opening of the store yesterday, Mr Allan Richardson, the Vodafone Uganda CEO, said, “We will continue to grow our retail foot print in Kampala and greater Kampala to ensure our customers can access our products and services at arm’s length. We will try as much as possible to go wherever our customers are.”

The outlet provides a different shopping experience for customers who would like to interact closely with Vodafone’s range of 4G data devices, smartphones and tablets.

Speaking at the same event, Rusika Davis- the new shop manager thanked Vodafone for its partnership with him and for working tirelessly to change the telecommunications landscape in the country.

“I am very grateful for this partnership that has seen me successfully open this shop. My objective of going into partnership with Vodafone is to bring, especially, better internet services to the people working down town. This will indeed go a long way in changing the telecommunications landscape in Uganda,” he said.

Vodafone Uganda's Managing Director- Allan Richardson and Rusika Davis- outlet partner officially open the Vodafone dealer outlet at Gazaland.

With the opening of the outlet, Vodafone Uganda now has more than 75 dealer outlets and more than 500 indirect retailers spread out within the areas where it currently operates. Gazaland has a very high traffic flow and has over the years become a hub for mobile handsets for both retailers and resellers. It therefore comes as no surprise that Vodafone would open a dealer outlet in this busy part of down town Kampala.

Mr. Richardson also revealed that as part of growing its distribution network, Vodafone has entered into partnership agreements with PayWay, New Pay, Yo Uganda, Interswitch, Pebuu, UgMart and True African to enable its customers’ access airtime and data electronically. With this development customers can now buy airtime and data at over 1500 partners’ locations.

Meanwhile, the telecom company has improved its coverage in the areas of Bukasa, Kyambogo, lower Kololo near Lugogo bypass, Naguru and Mbuya. This means that customers in these areas and the environs can now get the best of the Vodafone 4G experience for browsing, downloads, streaming.
