A dark cloud has covered Dokolo town after a vehicle belonging to the Office of the President knocked dead a resident boda boda rider.

Morish Ogwang Odyang was knocked by a double cabin pick-up registration Number UG 1785C which was heading to Lira from Soroti.

The Dokolo District Police Commander Amis Kayondo, says Odyang, is a resident of Western Ward, Atur parish in Dokolo, explaining that the accident occurred last evening when the deceased was crossing the road to attend to a customer.

The Nebbi District Internal Security officer -DISO Juma Tamalie, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident and this was confirmed by DPC Kayondo who also said Juma recorded a statement at Dokolo Central Police station and was later released.

Kayondo says police is investigating the cause of the accident that occurred at about 6pm and the vehicle is being held at Dokolo Central Police Station.
